Buried in the church of Saint Mary of Mercy on the beautiful island of Prvić, along with one copy of each of his books, Faust Vrančić (1551 Šibenik - 1617 Venice), also known under the pseudonym Justus Verax Sicenus, was a Croatian polyhistorian, lexicographer, inventor, lawyer, philosopher etc.
In the Memorial Center "Faust Vrančić" you will have the opportunity to learn about his impressive life and inventions (parachute, iron bridge, cable car, mills, etc.), while on the island of Prvić you will feel the charm of the peaceful island life that Faust Vrančić, author of the first Croatian dictionary and a functional parachute (which is often attributed to Leonardo Da Vinci), valued so much.
We invite you to join us in a cultural and historical walk through the life of one of the most important people from Šibenik!
